A festival to celebrate new talents and grassroots filmmakers, the Cardiff Independent Film Festival presents a selection of independent films from around the world and Wales. The event wants to promote independent cinema and at bringing it closer to the public:

Hossegor by twenty-five year old French director Quentin Valois won the Best Feature film award. The film tells the troubled stories of five young people — a daredevil, a thief, a liar, a romantic, and a photographer — in the small town of Hossegor, southwest France. A no-budget film, Hossegor follows in the footsteps of the French New Wave by telling the existential crisis of a generation living in the countryside and trying to find themselves:
